Mr Olumide Braithwaite, son of eminent Nigerian and
pro-democracy activist, Dr Tunji Braithwaite, on Sunday lost the PDP
Lagos-Central Senatorial primary election to Dr Ade Dosunmu.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that Dosunmu, a 2011
governorship candidate of the PDP in Lagos, withdrew from the 2015
governorship race of the party to go seek a Senatorial ticket.
Mrs Nkechi Mba, the PDP presiding electoral officer for the zone, who
announced the result at the National Stadium venue, commended the
aspirants and the delegates for their conduct.
Announcing the result, she said that Dosunmu got 130 votes and Hakeem
Gbajabiamila, a 2007 governorship candidate of the Alliance for
Democracy, got 83 votes to come second in the election.
Braithwaite polled seven votes.
