THE All Progressives Congress (APC) On Tuesda held its primary
for Delta South Senatorial district with Temisan Omatseye emerging
winner of the election having polled a total of 424 votes.
The primary election which was held at the Oleh Civic Centre in Isoko
South Local Government Area had his closest contender, Yemi Emiko,
scoring 181 votes while the third aspirant, Dr. Austin Urette, pulled a
distant 18 votes.
On the success of his election, Omatseye described it as a victory
for the people of Delta South, stressing that APC would emerge
victorious at the general elections.
In the same vein, a former Delta State Commissioner of Justice and
Attorney General, Chief Andrew Orugbo, emerged winner of the APC House
of Representatives primary for Ughelli North/Ughelli South and Udu
Federal Constituency, pulling a total of 496 votes to beat his closest
rival, Sylvester Akpodiete, who scored 333, while the third aspirant,
Thompson Mashini, polled 77 votes.
