A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Alimosho
Local Government Area of Lagos State, Segun Adewale, has commended the
chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof.
Attahiru Jega, on the ongoing registration and distribution of the
permanent voter cards (PVCs) across the nation, adding that it would
have been more dignified and less cumbersome if the exercise could be a
continuous exercise like the unhindered collection of international
passports and driving licence.
Adewale made the suggestion in Lagos while speaking with newsmen on
the state of the nation, immediately after he and members of his family
collected their PVCs at their polling unit in Alimosho area on Friday.
Adewale, managing director of Aeroland Group, added that INEC should
utilise its 774 area offices across the country and make it compulsory
for citizens above 18 years of age to register and collect their cards.
He said this would enfranchise the electorate willing to serve their fatherland.
