Adamawa State governorship election delegates at the Old
Parade Ground, Area 10, Abuja, busted into shout of “Sai Ribadu” as Nuhu
Ribadu’s name was announced as the winner of the primary election on
Monday.
The party primary was moved to Abuja last Friday at the instance of
the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) on the premised that the state is not secured enough to host the
exercise.
The event was, however, boycotted by majority of other aspirants who considered the event a nullity.
When the results were read, Ribadu scored 688 votes, Bala James
Ngilari pooled 26, Ahmed Moddibbo got 30, Alhaji Awwal Tukur scored 25,
Marcus Gundiri got 33, Aliyu Kama got only three votes while two votes
were declared invalid.
Flanked by the duo of Professor Iya Abubakar and Jonathan Zwingina to
his left and right respectively, the former Czar of the Economic and
Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) smiled to the repeated call of his
name as a leading contestant, relishing his victory.
As the result showed landslide victory for Ribadu, various leaders of
the party clustered around him to show their support and express
loyalty to the emerging standard flag bearer of the party.
