Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Abia
State for the 2015 election, Uche Ogah, is in the lead, ahead of 13
other aspirants, in an opinion poll conducted between November 22 and 28
by Accurate Resources, a media and marketing research firm.
The opinion poll was conducted on 1,000 prospective voters in each of the 17 local government areas of the state.
In the exercise, Ogah polled 15,634 out of 17,000 votes, representing 82.49 per cent, trailed by Alex Otti, 760.
Other aspirants are Ochiagha Reagan Ufomba, 519; Enyinnaya Abaribe,
501; Eric Acho Nwakanma, 481; Chikwe Udensi, 207 and Okey Emuchay, 14.
In the opinion, Mac Wabara polled 14 votes; Nkechi Nwogu,105;
Friday Nwosu, 105, Iheanocho Okezie, 70; Okezie Ikpeazu, 81; Emeka
Nwogu, 14, and Chris Akomas 43.
The poll, which was randomly selected, was carried out simultaneously in
all the councils at work places, streets and motor parks.
A total of 17,000 literate adults of both sexes were asked whom they
would vote for, among the 14 aspirants jostling to succeed the incumbent
Governor Theodore Orji on May 29, 2015.
The poll revealed a high level of political awareness in the state, as
participants went further to adduce reasons why they would vote for a
particular aspirant. However, the names of some aspirants were strange
to most of them.
