Stoke are still waiting to discover the full
extent of the leg injury suffered by Victor Moses at the weekend, the club has
said.
The on-loan Chelsea star limped out of the 2-1
loss to Burnley after 56 minutes on Saturday and boss Mark Hughes is still
waiting to hear the full diagnosis from his medical team.
Marko Arnautovic came on to replace Moses against
the Clarets and will be in contention for a starting place against Liverpool
this weekend should the Nigeria international be forced to sit out the game.
Stoke have not had the best of luck on the injury
front this season and Hughes will be keeping his fingers crossed over the
fitness of Moses, who has impressed since arriving at the club.
Meanwhile, Chris Iwelumo believes Stoke City
supporters still have plenty to be positive about despite the 2-1 defeat to
Burnley at the weekend.
“We can be encouraged by the performance; the
result will be addressed but there is a lot to look forward to at this football
club,” Iwelumo told the club’s website.
“We need to start games more clinically by
dominating possession, if we do that then we won’t be in the situation we were
in on Saturday and we will start winning more games.
“There was a lot of expectation before this
season started and we are starting to produce the performances that warrant
that expectation.”
