The Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of
Nigeria (ICAN) has set up a fund to assist in raising the standard of
tuition houses and ultimately the performance of students at ICAN
examinations. The fund is known as the Tuition House Support Fund.
The Institute observed that most tuition houses have the basic
challenges of inappropriate venue in terms of building/lecture rooms,
inappropriate furniture/fittings for conducive learning, inadequate
lecturers, non-existent library facilities, good study materials and
students’ negative attitudes towards academics.
In view of the challenges, the Institute is to render technical
assistance by providing library support to tuition houses in the
following three categories;Tier 1: Donation of library support to the
tune of N1million;Tier 2: Donation of library support to the tune of
N500,000.00;Tier 3: Donation of library support to the tune of
N250,000.00.
